Fine Art and Poster Prints- What's the difference?

What is the difference between a poster and a fine art print? Why does a fine art piece cost more?
Isn't paper just paper?

The Difference

All papers and printing processes are not created equal.

Posters are generally mechanical reproductions of original artwork, and are volume printed on less expensive paper. These prints usually fade and colors may shift.

Our fine art prints are a higher-end product, printed on archival paper using higher quality printing processes. Each print is custom-made with careful attention to true color reproduction.

Unless noted otherwise, all of our fine art images are limited editions, numbered and signed by the artist. Images that are 8x12 and smaller are not numbered, but are signed.

Our fine art prints come with a lifetime guarantee against fading and color shifting, as long as they are displayed properly.

Each fine art image comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
